Walking Courageously Part 2

We are called to walk in a worthy manner with the Father in Christ by the Spirit. The metric of walking in a worthy manner is Loving God and Loving Others (Matthew 22:37-40). The model for walking in a worthy manner is letting the peace of Christ rule your heart (emotions), the Word of Christ rule your mind (thoughts), letting the Name of Christ rule your words (speech), and deeds (actions).

Today, we focused on loving others with our words and deeds. Because everyone is created in the image of God and at the same time stained by the fall of humanity, we should speak truthfully and do good to all people. We should have the courage to speak the truth in love because our identity is found in the Christ, not others' opinion of us. And the courage to good even to those who would do evil to us comes from the model of Jesus who laid down his life for us.
