Walking Courageously
We are called to walk in a worthy manner with the Father in Christ by the Spirit. The metric of walking in a worthy manner is Loving God and Loving Others (Matthew 22:37-40). The model for walking in a worthy manner is letting the peace of Christ rule your heart (emotions), the Word of Christ rule your mind (thoughts), letting the Name of Christ rule your words (speech), and deeds (actions).
Today, we focused on loving others with our thoughts and feelings. Because everyone is created in the image of God, we should think honorably about all people. Yet, because everyone is stain with sin as a result of the fall, we should feel compassionately toward them. Our giving honor to one another is based on their value as one who were created in God's image, not by any measure of this world. And our compassion is based on their helpless estate as one who possesses a sin nature that war's against them.
