Firm Foundations for Our Family

The focus this week was building our families on the firm foundations. The family was the first structure that God instituted in this world and is crucial to a healthy society. The model has always been based on the Garden: one man and one woman in a life-long covenant of fidelity with a mandate to procreate. Strong families are built on the cornerstone of Jesus and his teachings. The Christian family must be shaped by the Word and anchored by the gospel. A gospel-centered family must have both instruction and demonstration. We should all make the same declaration of Joshua, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
