Firm Foundations for Our Finances
If we are going to build our finances on a firm foundation for 2026, we must remember that finances are a spiritual system, not merely a neutral one because it reveals what we fear, values, and ultimately trust. You can use money as a tool of worship or as a means of gratification of your desires. Left to your own pursuits, it can fund the fruits of greed, sex, and power. Therefore, we must build faithful habits with our finances. First, place everything you have in the care of Christ (put your balance sheet at the foot of the cross). Second, make a plan for God-honoring patterns for your money by creating a wise budget, living within your means, tithing as a first-fruit, and setting aside money for generosity. Finally, being viewing your money as a tool for building the Kingdom of God rather than a tool for building idols within the kingdom of self.
