The Gain of Death
Reading: Philippians 1:21-26; 2 Corinthians 5:1-10
Devotional: Paul made a shocking statement: "To die is gain." How can death be gain? Because for the believer, death is merely a transition to something greater, something more beautiful than we can imagine. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. immediately, no waiting, no purgatory, straight to Jesus. The world says hold on to this life because it's all there is. But Jesus says there's more life than you can imagine on the other side. If you're a believer, this world is the closest thing to hell you'll ever experience. Your best days aren't behind you or even in front of you here, they're waiting in eternity. Live today with that perspective. You're not just surviving; you're heading home.
Reflection: How would your priorities change if you truly believed that to die is gain?
