The Cost of Covenant Living

Reading: Joshua 1:10-18

Devotional: The Israelites stood at the edge of promise, but entering required immediate obedience. God had already given them the land, yet they had to actively possess it. Similarly, God has given us everything we need for life and godliness through Christ, but we must step forward in faith to experience it.

Many believers wander in spiritual deserts, longing for the intimacy with God they once knew, simply because somewhere along the journey they chose safety over obedience. The promised land isn't heaven; it's the abundant life Jesus offers now to those who follow Him wholeheartedly.

Reflection: What has God called you to that you've been avoiding? What comfort or security are you clinging to instead of trusting His provision? Today, identify one area where delayed obedience has kept you from spiritual abundance, and take one concrete step toward obedience.
