Strong and Courageous Together
Reading: Joshua 1:1-9; Ephesians 6:10-20
Devotional: Three times God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous. But Joshua couldn't complete the mission alone. He needed the people's commitment. And the people responded: "Only be strong and courageous, and we will follow." Courage is contagious in covenant community. When leaders obey God wholeheartedly, people follow. When members encourage one another, faith multiplies. We need reminded of our commitments because fear, doubt, and comfort constantly tempt us toward disobedience.
The church moves forward when we prepare ourselves spiritually, remember our commitments, carry one another's burdens, and embrace the mission together. God has given you the gospel, a community, and a city to reach. The question isn't when God will move, it's whether you'll be faithful enough to join Him.
Reflection: What Jordan River is before you? What intimidating challenge requires faith you don't feel you have? Remember: God has already given you everything you need. Now trust Him, encourage others, and step forward together in obedient faith. Be strong and courageous!
