No Spectators in Covenant Community
Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Hebrews 10:23-25
Devotional: The Israelites couldn't cross the Jordan individually; they moved together as a covenant community. Not everyone had the same role, but everyone had a part. Some were warriors, some stayed with families and livestock, but all were essential to the mission. Modern Christianity has become dangerously individualistic. We consume church resources without contributing. We want the benefits of community without the responsibilities. But Scripture knows no such Christianity. You are not a spectator; you are a vital member of Christ's body. Not everyone can teach or lead, but everyone can encourage, serve, give, pray, or welcome. Some have much capacity; others have little. But no one is called to just watch. The mission is corporate, the inheritance is shared, and the burdens are carried together.
Reflection: What is your part in the body? Where has God uniquely equipped you to serve? Stop waiting for the perfect opportunity and start serving where you are with what you have.
