Covered by the Blood
Reading: Exodus 12:1-13, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Devotional: For forty years, Israel forgot Passover, the meal commemorating their salvation through the lamb's blood. Yet God's manna never ceased. His faithfulness doesn't depend on our memory or performance; it rests on His covenant promises. The Passover lamb pointed forward to Jesus, the Lamb of God whose blood covers all who believe. When you take communion, you're not earning favor, you're remembering the finished work of Christ. Some weeks you come in victory, grateful for God's goodness. Other weeks you come broken, undeserving, confessing failure. Either way, the blood covers you completely. Your salvation isn't maintained by your goodness but secured by His grace.
Reflection: Have you been trying to earn what's already been freely given? Rest in His faithfulness today.
