Whose Side Are You On?

Reading: Joshua 5:13-15, Luke 9:23-25

Devotional: Joshua asked the wrong question: "Are you for us or against us?" The Commander's response redirected everything: "Neither. I am the Commander of the Army of the Lord." The right question would have been, "am I on Your side?" We constantly ask God to bless our plans, join our causes, and support our agendas. But God doesn't take sides, He is the side.

Reflection: The real question isn't whether God is with you, but whether you are with God. Are you aligned with His purposes or expecting Him to rubber-stamp yours? Joshua immediately fell in worship, asking, "What does my Lord say to his servant?" That's the posture God desires. You're standing on holy ground today. Remove whatever keeps you from full surrender. Stop asking God to serve your plans. Instead ask: What is the next right thing You're calling me to do? Then do it.
