Consecration before Conquest
Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:1-22
Devotional: Israel couldn't conquer Canaan without first consecrating themselves through circumcision and Passover. Similarly, we cannot experience spiritual victory while skipping foundational steps. Jehoshaphat understood this: facing overwhelming armies, he led Judah in worship before warfare. God wants worshipers before warriors. Have you been frustrated by lack of spiritual breakthrough? Perhaps you're trying to skip first things. Salvation must precede service. Baptism follows belief. Communion requires covenant. You cannot have conquest without consecration or blessing without surrender.
Reflection: What "first thing" have you been avoiding? What did God last ask you to do that remains undone? Your wilderness wandering may simply be delayed obedience. Return to worship. Prioritize what God prioritizes. Only then will you be ready for victory.
