No One Is Too Far Gone

Reading: 1 Timothy 1:12-17

Devotional: Rahab was a Canaanite prostitute, everything a faithful Jew would have considered unredeemable. Yet she became the great-great-grandmother of King David and appears in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Paul called himself the chief of sinners, yet God transformed him into the greatest missionary the church has ever known. If God can save a pagan prostitute and a murderous persecutor of Christians, He can save anyone. We should stop assuming certain people are beyond God's reach. The person you think is too far gone may be exactly the person God is preparing to save. Charles Spurgeon said he would share the gospel with everyone because he couldn't see the mark of election on their backs.

Reflection: Who is someone you thought may be beyond redemption? Begin praying for their salvation and trust that it is the sovereign work of God to bring about faith in their lives. Then, look for opportunities to spy out if God is at work there.
