Faith That Works

May 8, 2026

Reading: James 2:14-26

Devotional: Rahab is mentioned in Hebrews 11 among the heroes of faith and in James 2 as an example of faith that produces works. Her faith was not mere intellectual agreement that God existed, the demons believe that much. Her faith moved her to action. She risked her life to hide the spies, deceived the king's men, and hung the scarlet cord in her window. True faith always produces obedience. It transforms prostitutes into matriarchs, cowards into champions, and sinners into saints.

Reflection: Examine your own life today: Is your faith producing the fruit of obedience? Are you taking risks for the kingdom of God? Faith without works is dead, but faith that trusts God will always demonstrate itself through courageous action. What step of obedience is God calling you to take today?
